Who this is for
Cricket fans who follow the sport closely enough to argue about technique, and not so obsessively that they have stopped enjoying it. People who read a match report for the analysis and stay for the tone. People who buy kit because they play or watch regularly.
It treats readers as equals. It is deliberately not a stats aggregator and not a betting site, and it loses both the people who want neutrality and the people who want to feel superior.

Nothing here explains where the slip cordon stands. You either know or you can look it up, and either way you did not come to this site for that.

Bad cricket gets called bad cricket, with affection
A shocking hour of batting is funny and saying so is not the same as having a go at somebody. We rate the technique of players we have just described as a comedy.

The kit advice comes from people who play or watch far too much
If a thing is not worth the money, the page will say the thing is not worth the money.
What we will not do

Go after people
Performances get roasted. Players and commentators do not get attacked personally, and mental health and serious injury are not material for a joke.

Take money quietly
Nothing on the gear pages is an affiliate link and no brand has paid for a mention. If a betting company ever sponsors anything here, it will be labelled as sponsorship on the page you are reading.

Pretend to be neutral
We have opinions and we publish them. When one of them turns out to be wrong we will say so in the same place we said it.
What is not built yet
The shop. Rotate the Strike is meant to sell cricket gear and it does not sell anything at the moment, which is covered properly on the shop page.
There is also no email address on the site yet. That is a gap. Telling readers we admit when we are wrong works better when there is somewhere to tell us, and there will be.
Nothing is measured, either. No analytics, no cookies and nothing loaded from another company, which the privacy page sets out in full.
