What is actually missing

All of it. There is no stock, no supplier, no prices, no basket, no checkout, no payment provider and no delivery. An accounts page would have nothing to hold and a returns policy would be describing something that cannot happen.

Why we have not faked it

It would have been easy to fill a few category pages with plausible bats at plausible prices and put a basket icon in the corner. That is a lie in a shape that looks like a shop, and the first person to try and buy something would find out.

Everything else on this site is written on the basis that we will tell you what we actually think, including when the answer is inconvenient. Starting with an invented product range would make the rest of it worth less.

There is no sign-up box on this page either

We could have put an email field here. Without a mailing list behind it, it would collect your address and drop it on the floor, and you would be left assuming you had been added to something. When there is a list, there will be a form, it will work, and the privacy page will say what happens to what you type into it.

What is here instead

The gear pages are the useful part of a shop without the shop. They cover choosing a bat, the weight you can actually use, preparing it, pads and gloves and what belongs in the bag. No affiliate links, no brand deals, nothing to buy.

When it opens

The advice pages will read exactly the same as they do now. That is the test we intend to be judged on, and it is easy to check, because this version of them is already published.
